The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the entire amount of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the UK, France, and Germany asserted that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

UK sanctions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had exclusively been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward using the complete amount of the seized Russia's state assets to end the war.

He stated that further restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Russia.

This statement comes after European Union representatives met in the Danish capital last week to consider utilizing seized Russian assets for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump encouraged international partners to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian funds, as reported by reports.

The total of frozen Russia's assets in the European Union is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government launched large-scale aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on recently, leading to blackouts in large parts of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
