NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available on designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing more than four pass rushers but they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver could be this season's dark horses. They finished last season strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big while new running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and using varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly build something up how he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
