Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's new record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
My son told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
