Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to seven points just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?
One could pick holes in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight victories, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to break 22mph this season on his first score
While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, although a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to go but the door is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three 8-2 teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the pair in LA
Both have won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
